[洋基] 小王可能轉任中繼?

Manger Joe Torre announced Wednesday that Shawn Chacon would start on Friday
and Jaret Wright would take the mound on Saturday, leaving Aaron Small and
Chien-Ming Wang as the two candidates for bullpen duty.

Joe Torre 宣布Shawn Chacon將在週五擔任先發而Jaret Wright則在週六先發,
Aaron Small和王建民兩人則是可能擔任牛棚工作的候選人.

Wang gave the Yankees a stellar start on Monday, holding the Orioles to two
runs over eight innings in a 3-2 New York win. Torre indicated that Wang
could work as a setup man should he move to the bullpen, possibly sharing the
seventh-inning load with Tanyon Sturtze.

王建民週一為洋基投了一場優質先發, 八局只讓金鶯得二分, 洋基因此3:2獲勝.
Torre表示王假使轉到牛棚後可以擔任setup man的工作, 可能和Tanyon Sturtze
共同分擔第七局中繼的重任.

Small improved to 9-0 on Tuesday despite allowing four runs on 10 hits in
five-plus innings, as he has now allowed 13 runs over 18 innings in his last
three starts. If Small is removed from the rotation, he would likely work as
a long reliever.

Smal在週二的比賽儘管五局多的先發被擊出10支安打丟四分,仍將勝場數推進到
九勝零敗, 但在最近三次先發18局丟了13分. 如果Small退出先發輪值, 他可能

The decision of which pitcher to move to the bullpen may come from the team's
need. Torre has been toying with the idea of using Al Leiter -- currently the
Yankees' long reliever -- in a left-handed specialist role, which would
result in the need for a new long man.

至於哪個先發會移動到牛棚則視球隊需要. Al Leiter - 目前洋基的長中繼, 在
Torre 考慮讓他擔任LOOGY之後, 球隊會需要一個新的長中繼.

"Whoever comes out of the rotation is going to have a job to do," Torre said.
"If Leiter's in the mix and he's going to help the left-handed short guys,
maybe the long guy is more of what you need."

Torre表示: "不論是誰退出先發輪值都會有工作做".
"如果Leiter同時兼任長中繼和LOOGY的工作, 那麼多一個長中繼也許會我們需
要的"

Of course, how Mussina comes out of his start on Thursday will also play into
the equation, as the Yankees won't know until the weekend if he will be ready
for his next start.

當然, Mussina週四的先發結果如何也會列入整體考量, 球團要到這個週末才能
知道他是不是已經準備好下一次的先發.

Torre said he won't use Leiter in the specialist role until after Mussina's
start, as he will be the backup in case Mussina is knocked out early.

Torre表示在Mussina先發之前, 他不會使用Leiter當LOOGY. 他會先當Moose
的長中繼以備Moose的先發太早出狀況.

果真如此的話, Torre如意算盤打的還挺精的, 洋基這陣子牛棚的問題越來
越糟糕, 在先發逐漸穩定的情況下, 讓多出的先發轉任牛棚是最好的方式.

只是效果如何還要打上各問號吧? Small之前轉任長中繼的表現大家都看到了,
小王首局容易丟分的毛病, 擔任setup man都少有點提心吊膽的. 我倒覺得
如果把他們兩個轉任牛棚的任務相互對調, 會不會好一點阿???

總之, 目前看起來, 小王9/25會不會先發好像還有變數, Moose週四的表現看
起來還會是關鍵, Small雖然強運不過確實最近三次先發只有一次還可以.
為了季後賽, 其實現在誰先發都好, 只要洋基能贏就好了. 萬一小王真的必須
被犧牲轉牛棚, 也只好先忍耐了..>'<
