Q&A with Scott Proctor
Right-hander has found a home in Yankees bullpen

TORONTO -- Scott Proctor has made quite an impact in the first two weeks of
the season, giving Joe Torre another reliable option out of the bullpen.
The right-hander has proved to be valuable in long relief, holding the
Yankees in a couple of games after the starter had been knocked out early.
Scott Proctor 在球季一開始的兩個禮拜幹得不錯，讓 Joe Torre 的牛棚有了
另一個可靠的選擇。這位右投已經證明他是有用的長中繼，替 Yankees 撐住了

Proctor took time to answer some questions for MLB.com this week at Rogers
Centre.
本週 Proctor 花了一點時間，回答了一些 MLB.com 的問題。
MLB.com: Considering that you didn't know if you were even going to make the
team out of Spring Training, how rewarding has it been to make such a big
impact during the first two weeks of the season?
MLB.com: 在春訓時候的你甚至還不知道能不能待在大聯盟，相較於當時，現在
的你在球季開始的兩個禮拜對 Yankees 有相當大的重要性，你感覺如何？
Proctor: It's always nice to be used in a role that means something,
especially this being the first time I've broken camp with the team. Each
year, I try to take a step toward being more established in this game and in
this league, and this is just one of those steps.
Proctor: 能夠扮演這樣有意義的的角色總是令人開心的，特別是這是我第一次
在春訓後進入大聯盟。每年我都試圖讓自己在比賽中或聯盟裡更上層樓，而這是
我的一小步。
MLB.com: What has been the biggest difference for you this season?
MLB.com: 對你而言，這季有什麼最大的不同？
Proctor: One is having a sinker, a pitch I can get a ground ball with. But
the bigger thing is just confidence. I've talked a lot with the team's sports
psychologist, and we're working on just eliminating bad thoughts, and when
you have them, learning how to cope with them. I just feel more comfortable
and confident on the mound.
Proctor: 值得一提的是我有了伸卡球，一個我可以讓對方擊出滾地球的球路。
不過最重要的是信心。我跟球隊的運動心理師談過滿多的，而我們一同把一些
我心中的壞想法去除，還有當你心中有雜念時，學著如何去處理。我現在覺得
舒服許多而且在投手丘上感覺更有信心。
MLB.com: Have you found yourself leaning on some of the veteran players and
taking advice from them?
MLB.com: 你是否在球隊的老將身上學到什麼或是從他們那得到了什麼建議嗎？
Proctor: It would be stupid not to sit here and pick the brains of these
guys, given the number of years of knowledge and success they have had. You
want to learn about what they have done to get where they are, to have that
success. It's just another part of the process. On this team, there are a lot
of guys who can help you.
Proctor: 如果身處於此而不知道要向這些人請益，那真是呆瓜一個了，畢竟他
們在聯盟裡是那麼地成功且有許多寶貴的經驗。你希望能夠學到他們是如何做的

MLB.com: You have been a starter, a middle reliever, a setup man and a closer
throughout your career. What is your ideal role?
MLB.com: 在你的生涯中，你曾經是先發，是中繼，是setup man，也曾是終結者。
你覺得你最理想的角色是什麼？
Proctor: My ideal role is something that keeps me in the big leagues for 10
years, whatever that is. You would love to have a major role, whether it's as
a starter, setup guy or a closer, but if being in this kind of role for 10
years can get me a World Series ring and I can support my family, that's all
that matters to me.
Proctor: 我最理想的角色是讓我能夠在大聯盟裡待超過10年的，不管那是什麼。
你會希望有個主要的角色，不管是先發、setup man 或是終結者，只要扮演這個
角色十年以上而且能夠讓我有個世界冠軍戒指，並且我能夠照顧我的家庭，這些

MLB.com: You guys have had 11 road games in the first two weeks. How much are
you looking forward to getting back in front of the home fans?

面前比賽有什麼樣的期待？
Proctor: It's going to be great to stop living out of a suitcase and to be in
one place for a long time. I can't wait.
Proctor: 能夠不再提著行李到處跑，回到自己的地方待一段長時間是很棒的。
