: Pavano, who has not pitched in the major leagues since June 27 because
: of a variety of injuries, left a rehab start for Double-A Trenton after
: only nine pitches Wednesday because of forearm soreness. Tests Thursday
: revealed the latest injury, and Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.,
: will operate next week.
Pavano 從去年 6/27 之後便因各種傷勢而未能在 MLB 上場，而他上一場在 AA
Trenton 的復健賽則因為前臂痠痛而僅投九球便下場。 (一開始的新聞是拉傷三
頭肌 ? ) 週四的檢查證實了新傷的診斷 (手肘的碎骨) ，而 James Anderw 醫師

: Pavano, a 30-year-old right-hander, left the Florida Marlins to sign a
: $39.95 million, four-year contract with the Yankees after the 2004 season.
: He went 4-6 with a 4.77 ERA last season when rotator cuff tendinitis caused
: the Yankees to put him on the disabled list.
Joe Torre 表示 Pavano 的復原時間表仍未能確定，至少只有在手術過後才能夠了解
究竟是什麼問題，好在碎骨不是在肘關節裡頭.... (有比較好嗎 XD)
Pavano 目前 30 歲，右投手，在 2004 球季後離開馬林佛羅里達魚隊，並與洋基簽
下四年40M 的合約。他在上季交出了 4W 6L, ERA 4.77 的成績，並因肩旋轉肌肌腱
炎被丟進 DL。

: announced was that Pavano had back discomfort and would not start
: throwing for several weeks.
今年 2/15 春訓時，Torre 第一件發布的事情便是 Pavano 因背部不適，在
數週之內會無法丟球。

: When Pavano pitched in his first spring training game on March 28, he
: fielded a slow grounder near the foul line from his first batter,
: Philadelphia's Bobby Abreu, and stumbled as he dove to first for the
: out. While Pavano completed the inning, he bruised his buttocks on the

: Torre said Sheffield could start taking batting practice this weekend

扭傷左手腕。傷痛在撞擊後持續，使得 Gary Sheffield 在 5/9 被放進 DL。然而
Torre 預期他在本週末能夠開始進行打擊練習，並在月底前歸隊。

外野手 Bubba Crosby 則是在週四 6:2 敗給德州人隊的比賽中，拉傷了右腳大腿的
肌肉，並在週五被丟進 15 天 DL 。紐約人隊與 AAA 哥倫布的手下 Mitch Jones 簽
了大聯盟約。他目前 28 歲，沒在大聯盟出場過，獲選四次小聯盟明星賽。

: Yankees left fielder Hideki Matsui is sidelined until at least
: mid-August with a broken left wrist.
洋基左外野手 Hideki Matsui 則因左手腕骨折，在八月中以前不會回來。
