我看完這篇不知道笑了幾次 有請翻譯達人幫忙翻譯讓大家笑一笑吧 http://paullebowitz.mlblogs.com/ Carl Pavano Has Been Spotted! Can it be true? Carl Pavano is about to take----be still my beating heart----a rehab start?!? The Yankees are saying that this is going to be a version of spring training for Pavano; so when are they planning for him to be back? November? And does anyone truly believe that if the Yankees are in any kind of a race for a playoff spot in September that Joe Torre is going to trust Pavano in any role other than that of a mop up man? And I hate to quibble with the the statements of a manager heading to the Hall of Fame when he retires, but Torre was quoted as saying, "We're dealing with someone who hasn't been competitive in a year..." Competitive in a year? That would imply that he was competitive while with the Yankees. I certainly didn't see someone who was "competitive" while wearing a Yankee uniform when watching Carl Pavano. I hate to keep harping on this, but the last time Pavano appeared "competitive" was when he was with the Marlins and pitching for his big free agent contract. I must again and again reiterate that this is no personal vendetta, but is anyone associated with the Yankees from the front office; to the manager; and especially to the players; going to expect anything of substance from Pavano at this point? He has shown no desire, no willingness, no determination to return. I would love to hear an honest appraisal of Pavano from the old warriors from the championship Yankee teams such as Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and Bernie Williams. They were members of the team when the roster was comprised of more than just a string of mercenaries. And don't be fooled by any congenial facade those players portray; underneath they are some of the most intense and competetive players in baseball. Having played with warriors like David Cone and Paul O'Neill, who left every ounce of sweat and pieces of their bodies out on the field to perform for their teammates, they must look at someone like Pavano with unmitigated disgust. It's one thing to be injured; it's another to give the impression of not even trying to come back. It strikes me as odd that Mike Maroth is preparing for a return from the exact same injury as Pavano is in a fraction of the time. Pavano has become the Yankees equivalent of the Loch Ness monster or a UFO. Sighted, but never captured; believed, but never proved. So, again, there is another rehab start planned; another date of possible activation and participation in a pennant race. At this point, I wonder whether members of the team even want him back at all. It takes desire, discipline, dedication and teamwork to win a championship. The question has to be asked: Would Carl Pavano add anything even remotely familiar to any of those qualities to his team? You tell me. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.230.18.59
