NEW YORK -- Joe Torre is searching to find a balance in the Yankees bullpen.

  Torre正在找尋洋基牛棚的最佳使用組合。

The manager would like to create a mix in which he doesn't have to include
working right-handers Scott Proctor and Kyle Farnsworth on the same days as
often as he has this season.

  Torre想要找出一個最佳的牛棚使用組合，但是這之中不包含他本季經常使用
  的Proctor跟Farnsworth放在同場上的組合。


"These are the people we go to," said Torre, who used the two in the same
game 12 times in the first 48 games this season. "We have gone to them so
much. That's a concern. Their ability is not a concern. We just have to work
out a way to make sure they get enough rest so that when they do come in they
are not trying to muscle, or overthrow or feel that they need to do that."

  "這是我們所仰賴的組合方式"，Torre在本季開始的前48場比賽中已經用了

Torre attributes the inconsistencies Proctor and Farnsworth have shown at
times to overuse.

Farnsworth, for example, had a great outing in Boston last Wednesday when he
struck out the dangerous David Ortiz with the bases loaded and the Yankees
clinging to an 8-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Then, on Friday
night against the Royals, Farnsworth gave up a three-run homer to Angel
Berroa in the eighth inning that was the difference in the ballgame.

 以Farnsworth舉個例來說，在星期三對上紅襪隊，在八局下結束後洋基還可以保持8-6領
 先，全歸功於他可以在滿壘的時候封鎖住最具威脅性的Ortiz的打擊，但是在星期五晚上
 對上皇家的比賽中，被Berroa在八局時尻了一隻3分彈，吞下敗投，這就是這兩場比賽最
 大的不同處。


Farnsworth had appeared in 22 games and Proctor in 23 prior to Sunday's game
against the Royals.

 Farnswoth已經出賽了22場，而Proctor在星期天對上皇家隊出賽後也已經達
 23場。


"You are going to have to find another body out there and it may be Ron
Villone," Torre said. "One thing about Villone is he'll get it and throw it.
There are going to be days when he is going to get hit around a little. He's
going to stand out there and give you his money's worth. We are going to have
to insert somebody in there so we can keep from using both of them every
single day."

Torre, who lost a valuable reliever when Tanyon Sturtze fell to a
season-ending injury, said he hasn't set a plan in stone. Torre added that
when Octavio Dotel, currently nearing a rehabilitation stint in Florida,
joins the team the right-hander may be the man.

  日前我們失去了因手術整季報銷的Tanyon Sturtze，但Torre說他尚未有
  明確的計劃，同時Torre也把在佛羅里達已經接受開始復健的Dotel考慮進去。


The manager added it would also be a plus if the starters would pitch into
the seventh inning on a more regular basis.

  manager也補充說道，如果先發投手在大部份比賽可以投到七局或者更多
  ，我們就不需要這麼傷腦筋了。


Villone said he's ready to fill any role his manager assigns him. As a
nine-year veteran, Villone said he has learned to adapt to many situations.

  Villone說他已經準備好要擔任球隊要他做的任何一個角色了，身為一位
   9年的球場老手，他說他已經學會去適應場上的許多狀況。


"I just hope I can offer Joe a little leeway, a little slack in how he wants
to use me and to be a guy he can use early or late," Villone said.

 我只希望可以提供Joe多一點的空間讓他可以自由的運用我，不管要我早上場
  或晚上場都ok"，Villone說。


Right field: Torre gave Terrence Long a start in right field on Sunday.
Bernie Williams was given a rest.

  右外野：Toree將Long排在星期天比賽的先發右外野，讓老伯尼可以休息
   一下。


"I've gotten used to putting Bernie's name down for 10 years," Torre said. "I
have to catch myself once in awhile and give him a day off."

Torre said that Gary Sheffield, who came off the disabled list from a wrist
injury last week, was ready to return to right field on Sunday. Sheffield is
apt to start in right when the Yankees open a road trip with a game in
Detroit on Monday afternoon.

 Torre說道上周手腕受傷而進入DL的Gary Sheffied已經在周日比賽時準備重返球場
 ，而他傾向在作客底特律的比賽中就可以上場擔任先發右外野手。


Crosby on move: Outfielder Bubba Crosby, disabled with a right hamstring
strain on May 19, left for the team's training complex in Tampa where he'll
begin to take some at-bats and prepare to go on a possible rehabilitation
assignment.

Crosby動態：外野手Bubba Crosby，在5/19傷了右腳後，已經前往洋基
位於坦帕灣的春訓基地進行一些打擊訓練，同時也將開始進行一些復健的工作。


Torre said it's possible Crosby could be ready to return to the Major League
team in Baltimore by the coming weekend.

Torre說Crosby可能會在下周對上巴爾的摩的比賽中重回大聯盟。


Posada update: Jorge Posada, sidelined with a leg injury, is still not ready
to run and thus not able to catch. Torre said he'd use Posada as a
pinch-hitter if the case demanded it, but would prefer to take another
direction.

Posada最新狀態：因腿傷坐場邊觀戰的Posada仍然無法法正常跑動，也因此
 不能蹲捕，但是Torre可能會在緊要關頭時派他上來擔任關鍵性的代打，不過Torre還是

What language barrier? Torre said that the Yankees considered hiring a
translator for right-hander Chien-Ming Wang, who is from Taiwan, but decided
one wasn't needed.

什麼樣的語言隔閡呢?? Torre說洋基球團考慮要替來自台灣的王建民找一個
翻譯，不過最後還是作罷。


Wang, Torre said, understands enough baseball terminology to do his work and
that the pitcher functions in the clubhouse.

 Torre說王建民懂的棒球術語足夠讓他做好他的工作，以及在更衣室內的
 社交活動。

When the Yankees were at Shea Stadium recently they wanted to send Wang ahead
to rest up for a start in Boston on May 22.

"He didn't want to go," Torre said, laughing. "He wanted to stay with the
team. I went up to him and said, `You go.' He said, `I don't want to go.'
That was fine with me. Then [GM] Brian [Cashman] talked him into it. We went
up the ladder with him. He finally took going to Boston coming from the
general manager as something he needed to do."

 當洋基在Shea Stadium比賽時，想把王建民先送到波士頓讓他好好休息，準
 備5/22對上紅襪的比賽。

Coming up: The Yankees face a tough challenge on Monday afternoon when they
open a seven-game road trip with the first of four games against the Detroit
Tigers, who own the best record in Major League Baseball. Randy Johnson (6-4,
5.89 ERA), who struggled but won for the first time in four starts in his
last outing, kicks off the trip for the Yankees. He'll be opposed by
left-hander Jeremy Bonderman (5-3, 4.57). First pitch is scheduled for 1:05
p.m. ET.

 接下來呢：洋基即將面對到最嚴苛的考驗，他們將要面對連續七場的客場之旅
 ，包括首戰全大聯盟戰績最好的底特律老虎隊，RJ(6-4,5.89 ERA)將主投對老虎的第一
