I'm not so sure about the jersey part, but the international
broadcasting fee is divided evenly. I don't think YES can sell
the feed to Japan directly, they have their own territorial
right and that does not include Japan.

As to the stadium attendence, I don't think that matters much.
The Yankee Stadium is not as packed as the Fenway Park, but
they really don't need another Japanese super star to boost the
attendence. The tickets are much harder to get in these two years
than their three-peat years, there's no financial reason to spend
millions of dollars to make it impossible.

If the Yankees try to get the prize Japanese pitcher, it's solely
because of his ability, not the Japanese market he can bring with
him.
