Sturtze had a magnetic resonance imaging examination
on his right shoulder yesterday that revealed a small rotator-cuff tear and
bursitis. Sturtze, a right-handed reliever, planned to get a second opinion
from Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. He could opt for season-ending
surgery, Manager Joe Torre said.
