Torre opts to bypass struggling starter's turn in rotation
NEW YORK -- Shawn Chacon knows what he has to do to turn his season around.
Unfortunately, he will have to wait until next Tuesday to take the mound and
try to get himself back on track.
Chacon了解他必須做什麼來扭轉本季他的表現。不幸地，這機會將延遲到

Chacon, who is 0-1 with a 6.92 ERA in his three starts since returning from
the disabled list on June 11, had his latest turn in the rotation skipped
in order to keep Mike Mussina and Randy Johnson on their regular schedules
for this weekend's series against the Mets.
Chacon自6/11從受傷名單回到球場後，在過去三場先發中戰績零勝一負，

Joe Torre and pitching coach Ron Guidry also decided to keep Jaret Wright on
his regular rest for Sunday's game instead of pitching Chacon, bumping Chacon
to Tuesday -- nine days after his last start. Chacon's start on Sunday came
eight days after his previous outing.
Torre和投手教練Ron同時決定讓Wright在星期日的比賽中先發，更使得Chacon
的出賽順序被擠到了星期二--距上一次先發將隔九天。
Wright and Chacon had each had problems pitching deep into games in recent
weeks, but Wright has allowed one run in 11 innings over his last two starts,
while Chacon has given up eight runs in 9 1/3 innings over his last two.
Wright和Chacon近來都有續航力不佳的問題，但Wright最近兩場先發的11局中，
僅僅掉了一分，相較之下Chacon則在9又1/3局中弄丟了八分。
"We've seen some consistency with Jaret, and we do what we feel is the best
thing for the team," Torre said. "Right now, it looks like Jaret is a lot
closer to getting there."
Torre說 "我們在Wright身上看到一些consistency(不會翻)，我們也繼續
做我們感覺對球隊好的事。現在看起來，Wright比較接近那裡(較佳人選)。"
Chacon has been throwing more pitches per inning than he did last season, and
he blames his approach on the mound.

"I'm successful when I'm aggressive," Chacon said. "Instead of trying to be
like Moose, who paints the majority of his pitches, I rely more on being
aggressive in the strike zone. I have to remember what got me to a certain
point and then get back to it."

Chacon believes that his problems are not mechanical, so it's not a matter of
correcting a flaw in his delivery. Throwing in the bullpen isn't going to
solve the problem, but he knows that he won't have much else to do between
now and Tuesday.

"It's frustrating, but you just have to prepare yourself and be ready when
your day comes," Chacon said. "Jaret went through the same thing earlier this
season. You've got to pitch well to pitch, but at the same time, you need to
have a routine and be out there to pitch well. It works both ways.

"It's a matter of getting back into a rhythm," Chacon said. "When you go into
a slump, you lose something somewhere along the line. That's basically what
happened. I feel like I know what I need to do, so now I have to just do it."

這樣不見了。基本上這就是現在發生的事情。我覺得我知道我需要的是什麼，
所以我只要做就是了。"
