自從補進Abreu跟Wilson之後...紐約的報紙都不斷強調這一支球隊的攻擊能力...
上次看到了CCLu大寫說現在的陣容跟90年代末比的話...還差了一點...

結果NYYNEWS.COM今天真的拿來比較...比的是1998年冠軍陣容...

Now lets go Line-up by Line-up, 2006 Yankees vs. 1998 Yankees.

1. Johnny Damon
AVE: .291 HR: 15 RBI: 53 SB: 19
1. Chuck Knoblauch
AVE: .265 HR: 17 RBI: 64 SB: 34
Both are great lead-off men. Their similarities are really amazing.

2. Derek Jeter

Some thing just don't change, Unless becoming the Captain.

3. Bobby Abreu
AVE: .286 HR: 8 RBI: 66
3. Paul O'Neill
AVE: .317 HR: 24 RBI: 116
These two are also very similar in the way they play the game. Both are more
gap hitters and also could steal bases. We all know what " The Warrior "
done in the postseason. Lets hope we will see what Abreu has to offer.

4. Alex Rodriguez
AVE: .277 HR: 22 RBI: 78
4. Bernie Williams
AVE: .339 HR: 26 RBI: 97
Bernie is still around doing his thing. Alex will never be able to catch
Bernie's 1998 average, but should surpass his HR's and RBI. Alex has yet to
show the ability Bernie shows in the postseason.

5. Jason Giambi
AVE: .256 HR: 32 RBI: 87
5. Tino Martinez
AVE: .281 HR: 28 RBI: 123
Both are the power of the line-ups. Giambi and Martinez are the perfect
lefty fits for Yankee Stadium.

6. Jorge Posada
AVE: .287 HR: 14 RBI: 57
6. Darryl Strawberry
AVE: .247 HR: 24 RBI: 57
Darryl was more towards the end of his career at this time, But still
supplied amazing power. Jorge Posada was and still is the heart of the
Yankees.

7. Craig Wilson
AVE: .269 HR: 13 RBI: 44
7. Jorge Posada
AVE: .268 HR: 17 RBI: 63
Now teammates Posada and Wilson will look to win the 27th World Series for
New York.

8. Robinson Cano
AVE: .325 HR: 4 RBI: 27
8. Scott Brosius
AVE: .300 HR: 19 RBI: 98
While Cano is on pace to become a great ball player, Both seem to carry the
ability to come through when its most needed.

9. Melky Cabrera
AVE: .283 HR: 5 RBI: 34
9. Chad Curtis
AVE: 243 HR: 10 RBI: 56
Curtis is not to be compared to Cabrera, But Curtis added what Melky adds to
the Yankees stronger defense and extra speed.

Lets hope the 2006 Yankees have the same faith of the 1998 Yankees.

另外NYYNEWS還說這支球隊是自1998年以來的最佳陣容...What A Job Done By Cashman
補進來的三個人...就在短短的第一個禮拜作出不少的貢獻...這場交易影響很大...
就等Matsui跟Sheffield回來以後...打造一個先發替補最堅強的陣容...
