: What went right: The youth stepped up in a major way, as Chien-Ming Wang
: and Robinson Cano followed up their solid rookie seasons with superb
: sophomore efforts. Wang tied Johan Santana for the Major League lead with
: 19 wins, while Cano was in the thick of the AL batting race, hitting .342.

: postseason exit left a bad taste in the mouths of everybody involved,
: including A-Rod, who went 1-for-14 in the Division Series.

: Lineup: Despite the expected loss of Gary Sheffield to free agency
:  (the club holds a $13 million option on him, but is not expected to
: exercise it), the Yankees' lineup will return an abundance of talent.
: Johnny Damon, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi, Bobby Abreu,
: Robinson Cano, Hideki Matsui and Jorge Posada all return next season.
: A first baseman may be the team's most pressing need, with Giambi
: expected to get most of his at-bats at DH.

打線:儘管失去Chef是預料中的事(球隊擁有13M的選擇權,但一般預測不會去執行它.),

: Bullpen: Mariano Rivera will be back for another year as the closer,
: with Kyle Farnsworth and Scott Proctor returning as the team's two
: primary setup men. Mike Myers has one year remaining on his contract as
: the team's lefty specialist, though Ron Villone is a free agent.
: Brian Bruney, who came on at the end of the season to play a big role,
: will be back for a second season in pinstripes.

: A-Rod, who would surely command at least one young starting pitcher in
: any trade.
