我想這邊 ironically, was sponsored by a eperformance enhancer
指的是說，
Giambi 所贏的這個"Comeback Player of the Year"是由威而鋼贊助的。
而威而鋼如同我們所知的，也是一個用來增強(enhance)表現(performance)的藥物。
這裡應該是美式幽默，或許跟 Giambi 之前被傳用藥有關吧。
