Jeter brushed off a front-page report in Monday's Daily News which featured
the headline, "Hate Mailer Targets Jeter."
吉特否認了有HATE版的信件瞄準他

"It's something that happened two or three months ago," Jeter said. "It
really wasn't a big deal, so I don't know why it's a big issue today."
"那是很久以前的事了,沒什麼大不了..竟然變頭條新聞...."

According to Jeter, a letter arrived at Yankee Stadium earlier this season
that was intercepted by team security. Jeter, who didn't read the letter, was
briefed on its contents.
"早就被警衛拿去偷看了,我只大概知道內容而已"


"We discussed it briefly for about five minutes and I haven't heard anything
else about it," Jeter said. "It wasn't like a threat or anything like that.
It was just a letter from some guy. I haven't even thought about it again."
"只討論一下下就閃了,不是什麼恐嚇信,我根本沒在想過這件事"



The Daily News report said that the letter called Jeter a "traitor to his
race" for dating white women, and a law enforcement source told the paper
that it warned Jeter to "stop or he'll be shot or set on fire."
報導中指出信件寫"吉特背叛他的種族,跑去把白人妹妹",警方消息來源更說,"假如在不停
止,將請他吃土豆".

"It wasn't a threat," Jeter said. "It wasn't, 'I'm going to do this or that
to you.' It was just a stupid letter. I've gotten stupid letters before.
That's basically it. Now, for some reason, it's on the front page and it's
some big, huge story."

"根本不是個恐嚇,拜託,"我想要對你這樣那樣"根本是個愚蠢信件,以前早就收過了,
現在因為某些原因,變成大新聞."

FBI is investigating "racially threatening letters to Jeter and others across
the country," according to special agent Scott Wilson, who declined to
comment further.


1.吉特不是白人嗎?
2.MLB就是不一樣,對球員管理等等,即使只是個信件警方也會處理下去.
