今年春訓幾個大明星跑去打WBC
剩下來幾位農場小將表現也不俗
煙火秀繼續上映(倒是代表USA去LA打WBC的幾位 好像有點熄火...)

大概是說 洋基外野已經擠滿高薪大明星 新人沒什麼空間
但Kevin Thompson還是很認真來春訓
向總教頭Joe Torre和大聯盟教練團證明 他可以有點貢獻
談到未來他說
"I think about it all the time, I don't know where I'm going to fit in,
though, because there are no spots open. I have to just go out, play hard and
do my best. Hopefully someone will see something that will open their eyes
and I'll get my break."
"我常想 我不知道我的位置在哪裡 我只是上場盡力打球 希望有人能看見"

而星期一的比賽 26歲的Thompson轟了一支兩分全壘打
在春訓的12場比賽中 打擊率.400(10-for-25)
1支全壘打 4分打點 得5分

Thompson在1999年以第31順位被選進洋基
去年在2A和3A的成績:打擊率.297 14支全壘打 71打點 43次盜壘成功
45支二壘安打全小聯盟第一 盜壘排第二
並代表洋基小聯盟參加在底特律 未來明星賽

老教頭Joe Torre講評:
"He runs hard, and he looks like he's a player that is going to be in the big
leagues, He's going to make himself necessary. He does a lot of good things
and he's aggressive in a lot of ways."
"他跑得很快 看起來像是會上大聯盟的選手 他做得很好 很多方面都很積極"

除了有機會被教練團賞識
春訓也讓他有機會和大明星聊比賽
例如和Sheffield討論打擊 和Bernie Williams討論中外野手的守備

雖然現在看起來2006洋基隊還沒有他的位置
但去年春訓時也沒有Cano和王建民的位置
但最後他們卻對洋基造成巨大衝擊

Q:Do you think any Yankees prospects will make an impact in 2006?

你認為農場小將2006球季會對洋基造成衝擊嗎?

A:That's always a loaded question. Last year, nobody would have predicted the
success of Cano or Chien-Ming Wang, yet they both played a huge part in
winning the division title.
As the team is set right now, none of the prospects are expected to break
camp with a spot on the roster. If an injury occurs in the outfield, Kevin
Thompson could be called up from Triple-A Columbus to fill a hole, while
young pitchers such as Matt Smith and Matt DeSalvo could come up if the
pitching staff needs help.
However, I don't see any of the team's prospects making the kind of
contributions that Cano and Wang did last season. In 2007, you could see
players like Hughes, J.B. Cox or Eric Duncan start to make their mark.
這是個常見的問題 去年球季開始沒人可以預測到Cano或王建民的成功
但最後他們兩個都對洋基奪得分區冠軍有極大的貢獻
而球隊現在還沒現成的位置
但如果外野有人受傷 Kevin Thompson可能會從3A被call up上來
如果有需要投手  就是年輕投手Matt Smith和 Matt DeSalvo
然而我不認為今年農場裡有人能像去年的Cano和王建民一樣對球隊做出那麼大的貢獻
但2007年有可能看到 Hughes, J.B. Cox 或 Eric Duncan開始打響他們的名號
