Also for Rafael van der Vaart was 2002 an important year. The young
midfielder enjoyed the crowd regularly with his great actions on the
field and it wasn't a surprise he had been selected for the Dutch
National team. Unfortunately he received an injury.

'At home. Christmas Day ill celebrate with my parents, Boxing Day

'A succesful year. In spite of the stupid injury which i had, but i'm
happy how all things happened when I was fit.
Finally, I can look back with a satisfied feeling. But now I hope to
be fit for a whole year. En of course I'll be the champion of the
Dutch competition with Ajax, and will come as far as possibile in the
Champions League.'
