Eredivisie strugglers from last season Vitesse Arnhem have opened the
season with a 2-3 win against Roda JC, and go top of the table until the
other Eredivisie matches get underway on Saturday and Sunday.

spirit after coming twice from behind. In the 28th minute Roda took the lead
when Brazilian striker Cristiano smashed home a Ivan Vicelich cross from 8
meters. Four minutes later the Nick Hofs restored the balance when rounding
off Purrel Frankel's cross from close range.
