Fulham want to off-load Edwin van der Sar                  17 May 2003

Ajax, who are in search of an additional goalkeeper, could well turn their
eyes back towards former goalie Edwin van der Sar now that Fulham have
announced that they are willing to listen to offer for the Dutch international.
Van der Sar was signed by Fulham for 10 Million Euros from Juventus two years
ago and is one of the clubs top-earners on 42.000 Euro a week. Fulham
chairman Mohamed Fayed is faced with having to drastically cut costs and it
is now generally well known with Fulham that both Fayed and the board now
want Van der Sar off the wage bill.
