With the trade deadline looming, the Nets shifted their focus toward
cost-cutting yesterday.

交易截止日即將到來，於是籃網隊昨天把交易重點轉換到省錢上面。

They are shopping Marc Jackson around the league on the hopes that someone
could use an extra big body, and are asking for nothing in return. They are
also willing to give up one of their No. 1 picks if a team is willing to take
his contract off their hands.

籃網高層目前在詢問全聯盟有沒有球隊對Marc Jackson有意願，而且籃網並不打算要求
換回任何東西。如果有球隊願意接收Jackson的合約的話他們甚至願意附上其中一枚第一
輪選秀權。

The reason is simple: The Nets have a payroll of $65.9 million, which is
above the luxury-tax threshold of $61.7 million. If they can remove Jackson's
$4.55 million salary from the equation, they can slip under the threshold,
which calls for a dollar-for- dollar tax on any amount over that $61.7
figure.

理由很簡單。目前籃網隊總薪資6590萬美金，比薪資上限6170萬美金還高。如果他們可
以順利清出Jackson的450萬美金合約的話，籃網總薪資就可以降到薪資上限以下，順利
避開一比一的豪華稅金。

So dumping Jackson is a practical move, but it could come back to bite them
if the Nets face Shaquille O'Neal and the Heat in the second round, as his
six fouls would come in handy in a playoff series. But the Nets don't
consider that a cost-effective reason to keep Jackson, and are hoping teams
under the cap (Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte) are interested in folding him
into their own payroll.

所以說，清出Jackson的合約可以算是一個合理的動作，但是這個動作有可能在季後賽
的時候反過來害到籃網，畢竟Jackson在對上熱火隊的Shaquille O'neal的時候至少可
以貢獻六次犯規。但是籃網隊並不把這項理由視為一個值得花錢留住Jackson的理由，
所以他們目前希望在薪資上限之下的球隊(亞特蘭大，紐澳，夏洛特)對他有興趣。

而且對上俠客多一個body真的是有用啊
