East Rutherford, NJ (July 22, 2005) - The New Jersey Nets have signed Antoine Wright, the team’s First Round draft pick in the recent 2005 NBA Draft, to a multi-year contract, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. “We are very pleased to add Antoine to our roster,” said Thorn. “His style of play is consistent with Nets basketball, and we look forward to his development.” The 6-7 Wright, selected with the 15th overall pick, played three seasons at Texas A&M, averaging 15.4 points and and 5.6 rebounds over 87 games. A member of the gold medal –winning Team USA squad at the 2002 Global Games held in Dallas, Texas, Wright shot 41% from the field for his collegiate career, 37% from three-point territory and 65% from the free throw line. Wright was named First Team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press as a junior, the first such honor for a Texas A&M player in school history.
