Sol close to deal

ArsenalSol Campbell is edging closer to penning a new deal for
Arsenal.
The England defender is one of the highest paid players in The
Premiership, following his controversial Bosman move to Highbury
from Tottenham in 2001.
Campbell, 30, is now ready to take a pay cut to remain with The
Gunners.
"It's going well. There are still a few things we've got to
organise but it's going in the right direction and hopefully
it won't be too long," said Campbell.
"Arsenal are a fantastic club, there will be a new stadium in a
couple of years' time and it's a well-run club. Hopefully I can
sort everything out."
Arsene Wenger admitted that he was ready to sign a new deal
earlier this week and Campbell admits that his decision does
have an influence on him and his team-mates.
"Yes, of course, it would make up a lot of minds in the team,"
he said.
"Not only the French players, I think the whole team as he's
assembled a fantastic squad. All the players play for him and
love the way he conducts himself and plays football."
