Sol: We're On Right Roed

NOBBY Solano believes that given a little bit of luck Newcastle United will
be back in the top six next year.
Glenn Roeder has endured a frustrating season on the injury front, but
Solano feels that with a clean bill of health and a few summer signings, the
Magpies will again be challenging at the top of the table.

And the Peruvian says that he can see similarities between when Sir Bobby
Robson was manager at United and the current situation at the club.

Solano was in his first spell at St.James' Park when Robson took over the
Toon reigns from Ruud Gullit in 1999, and after two consecutive 11th placed
finishes, the black and whites broke into the top four in Robson's third
season at the helm.

Champions League football was the reward, Solano himself firing 12 goals the
following year as United finished the campaign in third spot.
And the former Boca Juniors star told Newcastle World TV: "We have new faces
in the team this season and I remember when Sir Bobby Robson was manager, it
took him a couple of years to build his team and the same is happening with
Glenn.

"Unfortunately we have had too many injuries, but we need to give it time and
be patient.

"The first couple of season with Sir Bobby we finished 11th, but then after
that we finished in the top four.
"Hopefully with a little bit of luck and some new signings we will be able to
start next season well and try to get back into the top six."
