在昨天，Roy Keane突然的跑出來指責Given參加太多愛爾蘭的比賽造成其他門將
沒有機會上場。並且諷刺Given是那種想要將自己出場場次達到那種50-100的人。
"I think players have agendas - certain players come over all the time
no matter what."
"Maybe they want to get 50 or 100 caps and a pat on the back for it.
"I think Shay's one of those ones - he wants to get 200 caps. Shay seems
to have played every game - even friendlies.
(Roy Keane表示他認為有些球員是那種想要將自己場次達到50or100場的人，
而他覺得Given就是其中一個。他自以為是的認定Given想要達到出場200，
想要打每場比賽、甚至是友誼賽。)
今天Given接受訪問表示，他不會去理會Roy Keane的批評。
"I've not seen them, although I've got wind of them.
"You don't want to comment on every single person who has made a negative
remark, or a positive one.
"Personally, I'm just focused on tomorrow's game."
"Just a few years back, you got a bit of stick if you didn't play for your
country.
"Now you're getting stick if you play. It's a no-win situation.
"But I'll be as proud tomorrow in making my 80th cap as I was when I won
my first against Russia in 1996 [exactly 11 years ago today].
"It's personal pride. I want to make as many caps as I can for myself.
If that's wrong then so be it."
(Given表示，他不可能去對每個人發表的評論做出回應，不管那是好的或是不
好的。他只想專注於他明天的比賽。
除此之外，這將會是Given達到第80場的國家隊比賽。Given表示，這是他個人
的驕傲，對於他自己本身，他只想儘可能多參加比賽。
如果那是錯的，就讓他錯吧。)
