Carroll rejects Scots chance

Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has opted to pledge his international
allegiance to England.

Carroll has a Scottish grandmother and Alex McLeish's coaching team had
sounded out the tall striker about playing for their Under 21s.
由於Carroll的祖母是蘇格蘭人，換句話說他既可選擇投效蘇格蘭或英格蘭。
之前蘇格蘭領隊McLeish就說有意挑選Carroll去踢 U21。
This prompted the English FA to initiate contact, thus handing Carroll a
dilemma.
McLeish的舉動引起了FA的關注並介入其中，讓Carroll處於兩難狀況。
And, after a week of mulling over his options, the 18-year-old has decided
to reject the approach from Scotland and pin his shirt to the England mast.

He told the club's matchday programme: "I want to play for England in the
future, so I have decided to turn down the Scotland chance."
