Manchester United have officially opened talks with Barcelona
about signing Patrick Kluivert .
Manchester representatives were present in Spain last weekend
to witness Kluivert's winning goal in Barca's 2-1 home win over
Real Sociedad 2-1.
Barcelona have informed United that they may have the Dutch
international for a reduced 10 million Euros and are even willing
add Dutch international winger Marc Overmars for an additional
7 million Euros.
Although it is uncertain if United are interested in Overmars it
is generally well known that Kluivert is No.1 priority for Sir
Alex Ferguson, who wants to have Holland's up-front tandem- and
give heed to Van Nistelrooy's wishes who has constantly described
Kluivert as his ideal foil.
