An ongoing debate between Fabio Cannavaro, Jose Mourinho and Davide Santon
is nearing its end, with the latter of the trio having the final say on the
issue.

“I obviously do want to play at the world cup for Italy,” Santon declared
to Sky Sport24.

This comment has come in direct response to those made by his national
team captain in Cannavaro, who suggested that the starlet should consider
his options, as his playing time may be restricted with Inter this season.

He continued, “I haven’t spoken to Mourinho about this yet, but again,
I really would like to make Italy’s world cup squad.

“The advice of Cannavaro? In January, I will consider an experience
elsewhere, if it means that I will secure my place at the world cup.”

Mourinho is certain to provide a prompt response to his young defender’s
recent claims.

Earlier today Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro said that 18-year-old Inter
starlet Davide Santon should consider moving to a different club to have
a chance of keeping his place with the Azzurri.
(稍早義大利隊長Cannavaro說如果Santon想保住他國家隊的位置就應該考慮轉會)
Unsurprisingly, this did not go down well with Inter coach Jose Mourinho,
who responded to the World Cup winning defender, speaking to Inter Channel.
(不意外，Mourinho很快在Inter Channel上回應了Cannavaro的發言)
"Cannavaro is still a player, but he speaks as if he already were a coach
or manager," he said. "He's making a mistake doing this, also because he's
forgetting something that doesn't concern Inter.
(Cannavaro還是個球員，但他一副好像是教練的樣子，他錯了，這些事不會影響我們)
"At Juventus him and [Giorgio] Chiellini play in central defence, so also
[Nicola] Legrottaglie should change teams if he doesn't want to miss out
on the World Cup.

"The same argument goes for [Sebastian] Giovinco, a player with his talent
who plays so little should consider the choices for his future better,"
he concluded.
