My Dream Toon XI - Steve Harper
Newcastle United's Official Matchday Programme is running a new feature
for the 2009/10 season in which our stars pick their "Dream XI".
Toon stopper Steve Harper kicked things off ahead of Saturday's victory
over Reading with his best line-up from his 17 years at St.James' Park.

GOALKEEPER - Shay Given (不容置疑的選擇！)
A good friend and a quality goalkeeper. I enjoyed working with him - but
I wish he'd left sooner!
DEFENDERS
Steve Howey
Quick, good on the ball and a good reader of the game. Only bad luck with
injuries prevented more England caps. A top bloke too!

Jonathan Woodgate
A fantastic defender who read the game so well that you rarely saw him go
to ground - and a great lad.
Sebastien Bassong（！）
Only played three quarters of a season but I'm sure he's destined for big
things. A quick, strong and aggressive defender!
WING BACKS
Habib Beye（說真的，這位置也沒幾個好選擇 XD）
A great athlete and by far the best option for this position as he could
get up and down all day!
David Ginola
Unplayable on his day. Could beat defenders left or right and scored some
great goals too. Wouldn't get back and defend, but who cares!
MIDFIELDER（不二人選啊～）
Rob Lee
Started wide but switched to the centre with great effect. Great work-
rate and a real goal-threat going forward. A ￡700,000 bargain!
Gary Speed
Did a great job here without getting the credit he deserved. A top class
pro.
FORWARD（也是不二之選！）
Peter Beardsley
A Geordie legend and rightly so. Superb skill and works his socks off
too. Could find the door-opener pass that no-one else could see. A real goal-
maker as well as a fine goal-scorer himself.
Alan Shearer
No tricks or left foot yet somehow scored 206 goals in 10 years!
Les Ferdinand
Just pips Andy Cole due to his partnership with Shearer which was far too
short for all Newcastle fans. Quick and powerful, and the fans loved him.
