Newcastle United have confirmed talks to sign Fabricio Coloccini are at
an 'advanced stage'.
Reports in Spain have claimed that the Magpies have already agreed a deal
to bring in the Deportivo La Coruna defender.

However, it now appears that the versatle stopper will be on his way to
St James' Park in the coming days.
A club spokesman confirmed to Sky Sports News that, while a deal had not
yet been completed, talks were continuing and are making positive progress.
Speaking after Newcastle's friendly defeat to Hertha Berlin on Friday,
manager Kevin Keegan admitted a new signing was imminent.
Keegan told nufcTV: "There's one deal which is ongoing at the moment.
"Hopefully we'll have something to tell you over the weekend."
