雖然從 Deportivo la Coruna 轉會過來以後
Luque 一直踢不出西甲時的優異表現
但他仍相信在缺少 Owen, Ameobi 下, 他可以為球隊付出更多
他接受 The Evening Chronicle 訪問時說：
"I want to be a success here but I need to play games.
"I can play here and do a job for this club but I need matches. I want to play
and do well for the fans.
"If I can get a run of five or six games then I promise I will do well here."
"Life for me at Newcastle is very different to what it was at Deportivo.
(那也是真的, Spain的陽光與海灘跟Newcastle的濕冷天氣就是一個大差別)
另外 Luque 也說出除了生活上, 還有在新堡中的位置的改變
"I played out wide on the left for Depor - a position in which I have done well
in the past."
"Here my role is as a striker and if that is where I am needed to do a job for
the team, then so be it.
(對喔, 我在 FM 都是放他在左翼, 而且一直都是整隊表現最好的, 只是後來發現他狀態
開始下降時高價賣掉 XDDDDD)
另外 Luque 否認一月時重返西班牙, 並說出他在Newcastle的希望
"Firstly I want to play in every game for Newcastle and after that I want to do
well personally to get back into the Spanish squad."
