Scott Parker is on course to make an unexpected return from injury in time
for the Carling Cup final on February 27.
The £10 million man broke his metatarsal against Norwich in December and it
was originally feared he would be sidelined until April.
However the ex-Charlton man has responded well to treatment and could be
available for the Millennium Stadium clash with Liverpool.
"Scott is doing very well and he could be back before the end of the month,"
said a club spokesman.
Parker has been a fringe player under Jose Mourinho, and it is doubtful
whether he will be selected if fit, although his early return still represents
a timely boost for the London side.
Chelsea face a host of crucial games in the next few weeks as they are still
involved in four competitions, and may have to utilise their whole squad to
prevent fatigue setting in.
