Taricco banned for clash with Duff
Tuesday, Sep 28, 2004
Not for the first time in his career, Tottenham full-back Mauricio Taricco has
found himself in disciplinary trouble relating to a game against Chelsea - but
this time with a sizeable gap between crime and punishment.
On Tuesday afternoon Taricco has been found guilty by The FA of violent
conduct during Chelsea’s 1-0 win at White Hart Lane back on April 3rd. The
incident saw contact made between the player’s arm and Damien Duff for which
he has been given a three-match suspension with immediate effect.
A second charge against Taricco involving an incident with Scott Parker in the
same game was not proved.
The Argentine defender served a similar ban soon after being shown a red card
against Chelsea in March 2002. That was for a foul on Graeme Le Saux.
