National goals for Robben and Kezman

In form Arjen Robben scored one and made one for Holland this evening,
Wednesday, while Mateja Kezman came off the bench to notch for
Serbia & Montenegro.
Both were playing in World Cup qualifying matches. Holland won 3-0 in Andorra.
Robben fired the second from the edge of the area and crossed for Sneijder to
score the third. Manchester United’s van Nistelrooy limped off injured.
Kezman substituted injured Milosovic just before the half-hour in Belgium, and
netted just before the hour to put Serbia & Montenegro 2-0 up, their final
victory score.
Petr Cech kept a clean sheet as the Czech Republic won 2-0 in Macedonia,
albeit with two goals in the last three minutes.
Perhaps the happiest victory was for Alexey Smertin and Russia. Following their
7-1 defeat at Portugal in the last international, they beat Estonia 4-0.
Portugal, meanwhile, continued their fine form with a 5-0 win in Luxembourg.
Ever presents this season, Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho played the whole
90 minutes. Tiago went on with just under 20 minutes left and four goals
already up on the scoreboard.
In friendlies, the biggest smile was with Robert Huth. Germany beat Cameroon
3-0 and he put another full game of international football in his locker.
Geremi suffered the full defeat.
William Gallas was in defence for another France clean sheet but another France
draw at home – their fourth in a row – as Poland also enjoyed a clean sheet.
England lost 1-0 in Spain. Wayne Bridge played most of the match on the left of
midfield, withdrawing to left-back for the last quarter of an hour.
Frank Lampard played the first hour and John Terry five minutes more.
Games yesterday, Tuesday, saw Damien Duff wonderfully set up Robbie Keane for
the goal in Ireland’s 1-0 win at home to Croatia. Duff weaved his way from the
right along the goal-line before squaring the ball.
Filipe Oliveira opened his Portugal Under 21s account with the second and fifth
goal in a 6-1 win in Luxembourg. Nuno Morais was at centre-back.
It was an unhappier encounter for England Under 21s. Glen Johnson was sent off
for two yellow cards, the second coming 20 minutes from the end when he showed
dissent – mock-applauding an official who had given him a positive decision.
It was his second sending off for England Under 21s in just over a year.
Carlton Cole played all 90 minutes but couldn’t get on the scoresheet as
England lost 1-0.
Johnson, Cole and Everton’s Bent were subjected to racist abuse from the crowd
which has led to an official complaint from the FA to UEFA. >"<
