Guthrie completes Toon move
Newcastle sign midfielder for undisclosed fee
Newcastle have clinched the signing of midfielder Danny Guthrie from
Liverpool.
The Magpies agreed a fee with the Reds earlier on Friday and were given
permission to speak with the 21-year-old midfielder.
Guthrie has now put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal to become Kevin Keegan's
second summer acquisition after Jonas Gutierrez.
"I'm really happy to be joining Newcastle United," Guthrie told the club's
official website.
"I'm ready to get involved straight away and I cannot wait to meet the boys
and get started."
Keegan has also expressed his joy at the capture of Guthrie, who spent last
season on loan at Bolton.
"I'm absolutely delighted that we've got Danny," said the Newcastle boss.
"He proved himself in the Premier League last season so we know he can play
at that level.
"He's at the right age and is a good signing for us."
