Danny Happy To Learn From Nicky

Danny Guthrie admits he is loving every minute of playing alongside Nicky
Butt at the heart of the Newcastle United engine room.
The 21-year-old has formed a good understanding with the former England
star in the middle of the park this season and the pair were outstanding
during last weekend's South Coast mauling of Portsmouth.
And Guthrie believes that Butt's experience will only help to improve him
as a player with the young midfielder only too happy to take any advice on
board.
"I've played with Nicky for most of the season, and it's just great to
play with someone who has been there and done it," said Danny.
"When he tells me something, or when he shouts at me during a game, I take
it on board because he knows what he's talking about.
"I've also played with Joey Barton and he is great to play with as well.

"They're two different players, and I don't mind who I'm playing with as
long as I'm playing.

"When I was at Man United, Nicky was playing. You always watched the
first-team games, and he was the one playing alongside Paul Scholes, Roy Keane
and top players like that.
"I wouldn't have thought I'd be playing alongside him a few years on!"

Guthrie, who opened his black-and-white goalscoring account during the
3-0 win at Fratton Park, also admits he is living a dream every time he runs
out at St.James' Park.
"There aren't many better places to play than St James's Park, which I've
found out this year," he said.
"Everyone always talks about it, like former players and players who are
here, but it's something else to actually do it."
