   MICHAEL Owen and Alan Smith have been included in Steve McClaren's England
squad for their Euro 2008 Qualifier double-header next month.

   The Three Lions take on Israel at Wembley on Saturday, September 8, before
their crunch clash against Russia at the same venue four days later.

   Owen, who has 83 caps, is now 12 goals away from equalling Bobby Charlton's
record of 49 strikes for England.

   Smith meanwhile has one goal for his country from 18 appearances.
