ALAN Smith left Stamford Bridge on Saturday night suffering from severe
concussion after a clash of heads with team-mate Abdoulaye Faye.
The 27-year-old battled on for another 10 minutes after the knock but
was eventually replaced by David Rozehnal in the 70th minute.
And it was a dazed Smith who emerged from the away dressing room after
the game, admitting that he had very little recollection of the incident.
Sam Allardyce confirmed that the United skipper was OK following the
sickening clash but that they would wait until Monday before deciding if
he will be fit to face Man City at St.James' Park on Wednesday.
"Alan's suffering from severe concussion but thankfully he's OK," the
Magpies boss told nufc.co.uk after the 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
"But we'll have to wait until Sunday or Monday before deciding if he is
available for Man City."

另外,目前球隊的隊長是 Smith,雖然 Sam說這是為了因應 Geremi去非洲盃
之後隊長的連貫性(?),所以之前對 Wigan,即使 Geremi在場上還是 Smith
當隊長.
不過這場比賽 Geremi連名單都進不去....以後隊長應該就是 Smith了.
