Skysports.com Newcastle offer to host Milan By Lewis Rutledge - Created on 8 Feb 2007 Newcastle have offered to stage the second leg of Milan's UEFA Champions League clash with Celtic, following the closure of the San Siro. Italian football was suspended last week after the death of a policeman in riots outside a stadium and when games resume on Saturday only a select number of venues will be allowed to open their doors to the paying public. Milan will not be able to host matches as normal until security has been improved, meaning the home leg of their game with Celtic may have to take place on neutral ground. Milan vice president Adrian Galliani has criticised the decision to close the San Siro to supporters, and revealed Newcastle's proposal to play the game at St James' Park. "It's obvious we want to play at the San Siro with open doors and as far as the Champions League is concerned, yesterday I spoke to (Uefa president Michel) Platini and we are free to play at home, maybe behind closed doors, or away (from home)," he told Milan's official website. "Geneva and Newcastle have offered to let us play there. "I think it's fundamentally unjust to close a stadium like the San Siro on which we have already spent €20million (£13.3million) for works which are never-ending. "We have done everything the law has asked us to do and have no reason to feel bad." -- 所以新堡跟各大豪門關係真不錯 XD。 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 202.86.138.143
