Big Sam eyes silverware
By Alex Livie - Created on 13 May 2007
Sam Allardyce has revealed he left Bolton as he did not feel The Trotters
could fulfil his desire to challenge for top honours.
The 52-year-old transformed Bolton's fortunes during his eight-year stay
in the North West, but he claims he had grown frustrated by their failure to
break into the top bracket.
Big Sam 透露離開博爾頓的最大原因
是因為在Trotters的八年期間始終無法更進一步
這讓他感到很挫敗,所以選擇離開。
He turned his back on the club last month, but seems set for a swift
return to management with Newcastle.
The former Notts County boss has held talks with The Magpies and reports
suggest he will be handed the managerial reins next week.
Allardyce is happy with his achievements as a manager, but is determined
to move his career forward before he retires.
作為一名領隊,Big Sam 對於自己獲得的成就很高興
但他決心要走向更高層次!
"I've had a lot of praise for what I've done, but there's nothing at the
end of it," Allardyce said in the Mail on Sunday.
"I want silverware - and I'm determined to get it before my days as a
manager are over."
He added: "For me, the level we were at, what was happening, how we were
going, I didn't feel comfortable with anymore.
"I needed a change. I started to think about me for the first time in eight
years and said it's my time to go."
