CVG’s John Houlihan reports that the Nintendo Revolution might have
a name change this Thursday. He will be in attendance at the Game
Developers Conference this week and will be reporting from there.
He’s got some great rumors for everyone to share (as if we didn’t
have enough already).
"The annual Game Developers Conference is starting to get into full
swing and we've got a couple of juicy Nintendo rumors for you to chew
over this afternoon, concerning the big N's next-generation machine."
In John Houlihan’s article, he mentions the fact that we might very
well find out what the real name of the Nintendo Revolution will be.
Iwata’s upcoming speech at the GDC would be an ideal opportunity to
announce such news. Nothing is certain as of now, but we will be
following this event extremely closely because a name change would be huge.
On top of this, CVG also includes the following passage in their
article: "[another] persistent rumor which has been doing the rounds
is that Nintendo may launch the Rev as early as June." A release this
early in the year would be a tremendous advantage for Nintendo.
BusinessWeek said that if Nintendo were to release in June and were to
sell about a million units, then Sony would have a hard time catching up.
This entire story still remains pure speculation, but maybe some of it
will turn out to be true. RevolutionPortal will be following the GDC
closely and you will be informed as soon as news becomes available.
