Bolton have swooped to sign Sweden international winger Christian
Wilhelmsson for ￡2.1million, according to reports.
The Sun claims that the 27-year-old, who had also been linked with
Manchester City and Tottenham, agreed a three-year deal with Trotters chief
Sammy Lee on Tuesday night.
The Nantes ace, who has won more than 40 caps for his country, spent last
season on loan at Roma but has previously stated his desire to play in the
Premier League.
Lee will be delighted to have landed an experienced international for a
relatively small fee but has failed in his bid to snap up Rosenborg striker
Daniel Braaten.
The Wanderers boss had hoped to convince the 25-year-old, who has six months
remaining on his contract in Norway, to make the switch to the Reebok
Stadium but has failed in his efforts.
