Manchester City have signed Swedish international goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson
from Rennes.

City have beaten off strong interest from Charlton to land the 24-year-old -
who signed a three-year deal at Eastlands on Saturday.

Isaksson comes as a direct replacement for David James - who has sealed his
move to Portsmouth.

The Swede revealed how much of a bearing Stuart Pearce had on him choosing
City.

"Pearce believes in me, that feels very good," Isaksson told Sportbladet.
