Nuggets fans might not remember much from when Mark Blount was with the team
four years ago.

The center scored 24 points Wednesday night to help the Minnesota Timberwolves
to a 99-94 win against the Nuggets at the Target Center.

Blount, who played an uneventful first half of the 2002-03 season with the
Nuggets, scored eight points during the final 3:20, six on long jumpers.

Blount, who declined an interview request, made a 20-footer with 1:50 left to

Karl then watched Garnett grab the rebound and wrap up the game with two free
throws with 9.3 seconds left.

Blake, who said he was trying to draw a foul, vowed not "to say anything bad
about the officials." But he added, "I thought I got fouled."

Blake handed out a career- high 18 assists, but only two during the fourth
quarter, when the Nuggets (26-25) were outscored 26-18 while committing seven
turnovers.

The Nuggets saw the Timberwolves (25-27) yank down six offensive rebounds
during the quarter. Minnesota outrebounded the Nuggets 18-5 overall during the

Karl wasn't complaining about the Nuggets winning three of four to enter the
break after losing seven of eight.

Still, Karl, who talked about the Nuggets winning at least 20 of their final
31 games, couldn't help but say "27-24 would have sounded a lot better than
26-25."

Nuggets forward Eduardo Najera agreed.

"Not the way we finished," he said when asked if it overall was a positive
finish for the first half. "It was a game we let go."

The Timberwolves, with Garnett not getting his first field goal until 4:48 was
left in the second quarter, won despite falling behind by 11 during the first
quarter and nine late in the third.
"This is big win for us," Garnett said of Minnesota gaining ground against a
Northwest Division opponent.
After a slow start, Garnett finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds. He
outplayed Nuggets center Marcus Camby, who had 12 points and a meager three
rebounds.

Nene scored only six points in the last three quarters after getting 12 in the
first quarter.

Karl said the Nuggets "overbalanced the offense toward Melo."

The Timberwolves overbalanced their offense at the end toward Blount. And it
worked.
灰狼在比賽的最後也頻頻把球交給Blount出手,很顯然的效果非常好
ETC.: Nuggets guard Allen Iverson missed his eighth game out of nine because
of a sprained right ankle. Athletic trainer Jim Gillen said Iverson will get
treatment by NBA trainers in Las Vegas, where he will be for the All- Star
Game despite not playing. Gillen said there is a "good chance" Iverson will
play Tuesday in San Antonio. . . . Nuggets players were free to disperse for
the break after the game. They are due for a 6 p.m. CST practice Monday in San
Antonio. . . .
後記:AI因為腳踝傷勢缺席了近九場比賽內的八場比賽,運動防護員Jim Gillen說AI會在Las-
Vegas接受NBA防護員的治療,也就是說,AI會出席明星賽但不會上場比賽,而Jim Gillen也說
AI很有機會會在下禮拜二對馬刺的比賽回到球場,而這完全取決於他下禮拜一在聖安東尼奧
的練球感覺如何
