The Nuggets lost forward Carmelo Anthony for the game midway through the
second quarter with a sprained left ankle, and the Nuggets were walloped
116-99.

The Nuggets lost Anthony with 5:11 to play in the first half after he went
down following a 5-foot jumper he made 5 seconds earlier. Anthony came down
on the foot of Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.

Anthony was on the floor in obvious pain for several minutes. He then was
helped to the locker room.

X-rays were negative. Anthony will be re-evaluated today in Denver.
