呵好久沒聽這張專輯了...
我試著詮釋一下歌詞吧
An extraordinary guy
Can never have an ordinary day,

But his mind
「一個非凡的傢伙是不可能有平凡的一天的」
追根究底，因為他/她的世界是建構在腦袋腦海(mind)
而不是肉眼物質外在會改變會腐朽會失去的東西(friends, shoes)
They are sleeping while they dream
And then they want to be adored
They who don't say what they mean
Will live and die by their own sword
I dig their friends, I dig their shoes
But they are like a child with nothing to lose
In their minds, their minds.
這邊的 "they 他/她們”也是另外一種靠 "mind 腦袋"生活的人
只不過他/她們通常是作著白日夢、不著邊際而且會自食其果迷失掉的一群人
But I'll have my way
In my own time
I'll have my say
My star will shine
而這個 "I 我”似乎是介於這兩種境界的人(不凡的天才和沉溺的逃避者)
並且找到了一條新的屬於自己的路
用自己的時間走著
用自己的話語說著
讓自己的星星閃耀著
Cos you see me I got my Magic Pie
Think of me yeah that was me I was that passer by
I've been and now I've gone
因為有了這個 "Magic Pie"(呵可以是任何轉戾的人事物吧)
"I 我"獲得了一種「旁觀過客」般的流動的暫時的冷眼的視角和位置

Many minds to educate and people who have disappeared
D'you dig my friends? D'you dig my shoes?
I am like a child with nothing to lose but my mind
My mind
不過很有趣的是
這個“I 我”也宣告他沒有什麼好失去的
只有 "mind 腦袋" 是他唯一真實擁有的像單純戲耍的小孩一樣

或許深意是
要設法找到你的 Magic Pie 好讓你的 star 能夠 shine:P
而最真實最有價值別人奪不走的都 all in the mind:D
呵不過live版本 Noel 自己用吉他彈唱最後一直重複
"you see me I got my Magic Pie...I'm still getting high..."
總是讓我覺得這首歌還真的是滿有種旋轉腦袋輕輕搖晃腦漿的魅力呢
