Go Let It Out 在本週登上排行榜第一之後
也正式成為 Oasis 生涯中第五張的冠軍單曲
1. Some Might Say
2. Don't Look Back In Anger
3. D'You Know What I Mean
4. All Around The World
5. Go Let It Out

OASIS TOP CHARTS AFTER TWO YEAR BREAK18:20 Sunday 13 February 2000
By Anthony Barnes, Showbusiness Correspondent, PA News
Rock superstars Oasis bounced back after a two-year break by racing straight
to the top of the charts to claim their fifth number one today.
The group's huge fanbase flocked into stores throughout the week helping Go
Let It Out, the first taste of their fourth album Standing On The Shoulder Of
Giants, to oust Gabrielle from the peak of the singles chart.
But the guitarist and mastermind behind the band, Noel Gallagher, was
indifferent to the success of the band's high new entry to the singles chart.
Speaking about the importance of number ones, he told PA News: "I've never
really bothered about chart positions, we've had a few number twos as well.
It's never really mattered in the first place.
"We're not obsessive about it because it doesn't mean anything at the end of
the day. What matters is that we're happy with the songs and they get through
to people.
"It certainly doesn't make you feel bad about yourself if you don't get to
number one - and it doesn't make you feel any better if you do."
The track sold well from the moment it hit the record racks on Monday morning.
Many stores opened early to cope with the expected clamour of fans on their
way to school, college or work. One, the HMV shop in Dundee, had not even
planned its 8am start, but the crowd queuing outside prompted staff to throw
open the doors anyway.
By midweek Oasis had sold 114,000 copies of their single, compared to
Gabrielle's Rise which had achieved sales of just 34,000. In fact, Oasis had
sold almost as many copies as the rest of the top eight put together.
The band was last at number one with All Around The World in January 1998
before taking a break from recording until they regrouped last summer to
record the album in a French chateau.
Since the record's completion the band lost two mainstays, guitarist Paul
"Guigsy" McGuigan and bass player Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs who wanted to spend
more time with their families and were thought to be unhappy at the thought
to a lengthy world tour.
However Oasis have since recruited the technically more proficient Gem Archer
- ex of Heavy Stereo - on guitar and Andy Bell, formerly with Ride on bass.
The band release Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants on February 28.
Gabrielle had some comfort after being ousted from her two week reign at
number one by taking the top slot in the album chart with Rise.
