OASIS TO HEADLINE READING AND LEEDS FESTIVALS IN 2000
Oasis will headline the Reading and Leeds festivals this summer, it has been
revealed.
The band, whose first single for over two years, 'Go Let It Out' entered the
charts at Number One on Sunday, have confirmed they will play the two dates
in August.
On August 25th, Oasis will play Reading and then Leeds three days later, on
the 28th, Bank Holiday Monday.
Noel Gallagher, who suggested last week that Oasis would need 'two and a half
million good reasons' to play a festival in 2000, said the decision was
helped by the location of the festivals.
'As far as I'm concerned, there are two main British music festivals,
Glastonbury and Reading a?“ as we've already played Glastonbury twice and
Reading is nearer to my house, it was an easy choice to make.'
The Oasis module, which can be accessed on the dotmusic front-page has also
been updated today, and now features one of the stand-out tracks from the new
album 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants'.
'Gas Panic' is thought to be about Noel Gallagher's cocaine addiction, and
the mental and physical collapse that it caused.
