Girl band All Saints topple Oasis in singles charts
LONDON (Reuters) - Girl band All Saints have toppled rock superstars Oasis
from the number one spot in the UK single charts.
The four-piece band's single "Pure Shores", featured on the soundtrack of the
Leonardo DiCaprio film "The Beach", went straight to the top in its first
week of release.
Two more newly-released singles entered the chart's top five positions --
U.S. teenager Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants" at number three and
Canadian country-pop singer Shania Twain's "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love
You)" at number five.
Oasis's "Go Let It Out" slipped to number four, while Gabrielle's "Rise"
remained at number two.
