Oasis have hit number one in the UK album charts this week with Standing
On The Shoulder Of Giants.
The album sold over 311,000 copies in it's first week, eight times as many
as it's nearest rival, Travis.
Meanwhile, Go Let It Out, drops to the lower regions of the Top 40 singles
chart this week as Oasis embark on there world tour.

OASIS predictably made it to Number One on the UK album charts on
Sunday (March 5) as 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants' carried their
record of first week LP Number Ones to five.
'Standing On the Shoulder Of Giants' was assured of a Number One place,
but found competition from other high-profile releases - Smashing
Pumpkins' 'Machina/The Machines Of God' and AC/DC's 'Stiff Upper Lip'.
Despite some lukewarm reviews from critics, Oasis' fourth studio LP
became their fifth debut week Number One. Their b-sides compilation
'The Masterplan', released in 1998, also debuted at Number One.
The Smashing Pumpkins album - rumoured to be the band's last - debuted
at Number Seven.
Eels' 'Daisies Of The Galaxy', the US band's third LP, entered the
charts at Number Eight.
Steely Dan's 'Two Against Nature' came in at Number 11, while perennial
hard rock godfathers AC/DC managed Number 12 with 'Stiff Upper Lip'.
The Air-featuring soundtrack to The Virgin Suicides was at Number 14.
Cartoonish pop favourites Aqua, however, could only managed Number 24,
while Muse's 'Showbiz' managed to re-enter the charts at Number 29
after a high-profile tour.
