Forget any recent reports you may have read. Oasis are back - with a
vengeance.
忘卻你最近所讀到有關綠洲的風風雨雨.Oasis回來了--挾帶著令人意想不到的榮耀.
Part of this must be down to the new band-members. Ex-Ride and
Hurricane #1 man Andy Bell looks great on stage next to Liam, pumping-
out the fluid bass-lines on 'Go Let It Out' and an emotional 'Don't
Look Back In Anger'. No surprise that Liam rewards him with a kiss on
the cheek during a drawn-out version of 'Gas Panic' from the new
album.
功臣之一便是今年才新加入的團員,前Ride和Hurricane#1的成員Andy Bell,一個
站在舞台上散發出僅次於Liam魅力的男人,用他的指尖敲擊出Go Let It Out流暢的

在新專輯加長版Gas Panic的間奏中,親吻了Andy的臉頰一下.
Guitarist Gem is rock incarnate in his shades and leather and vicious
fret runs. His previous band Heavy Stereo might've been dull, but his
funky 70s-style playing on 'Cigarettes And Alcohol' (which segues
into Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love') and the
kaleidoscopic 'Shakermaker' is anything but. No surprise that he was
the member outed the following day in the tabloids as having gone on
a 15-pint celebratory bender with Liam.
吉他手Gem也在一身皮衣墨鏡的勁裝下,用搖擺的踏步把搖滾精神表露無遺.
他之前待過的那個團Heavy Stereo或許無趣,但在他那神似70年代放克風格演奏下的
Cigarettes & Alcohol(還特別帶入Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love"的旋律)和
Shakermaker卻顯得變化多端,引人入勝.也難怪他是隔天八卦報上和Liam選擇一起在酒吧
狂飲的樂團伙伴.
However, most of it is due to the Gallagher brothers rediscovering
their hunger. There are two contributory facts here: this is Noel's
first concert since his much-publicised walk-out in Paris a couple of
months ago, and Patsy has finally quit the marital home she shared
with Liam. (Indeed, the tabloid pictures showed her this very morning
carting off the mattress.)

Is the blood rift healed? It seems so - after a
triumphant 'Acquiesce', Liam saunters over to Noel and shakes his
hand. It's the briefest of gestures, but the crowd go absolutely
mental, chanting 'OASIS OASIS' over and over. The versions of 'Roll
With It', 'Stand By Me' and 'Wonderwall' which follow are magical,
Oasis back on a roll and - as ever - untouchable.

So what if Noel drops the broadest of hints, first encore, by
reappearing with the band but minus Liam for a heavy-duty version
of 'Hey Hey My My'? (It's the Neil Young song which contains the
famous Cobain suicide note line about 'it's better to burn out than
to fade away'.) Tonight, we are all rock'n'roll stars.
Noel放水似的暗示又如何呢?第一支安可曲,率領著其他除了Liam之外的團員登場,
接下了麥克風的重任,唱了"加味版"的Hey Hey My My(就是Neil Young那首有Kurt遺言
"It's better to burn out than to fade away"的歌)今晚,在場的每一個人都是
"搖滾明星"...
A kid climbs up to the top of the tarpaulin covering the mixing desk
(some 30 feet from the ground) and starts dancing maniacally
during 'Live Forever', as words flash across the video screen. 'Life
doesn't end when you stop subscribing to Billboard magazine'. Indeed
not.
一個年輕人在Live Forever演奏時爬上拼湊高台的棚布上,開始發瘋似地跳舞,
或許正如舞台兩旁螢幕上閃爍的字所說,"即使不再出現在美國Billboard雜誌的排行榜上,
我們也死不了的啦!" 的確如此,不是嗎?
