"A majestic performance with a magical atmosphere." Daily Telegraph
The two Oasis concerts at Wembley Stadium were the most eagerly anticipated rock shows of the Summer, and proved to be highlights of an extraordinary World Tour. These sold out gigs were a rock'n'roll triumph: 70,000 people each night singing each song word-perfectly, captivated by the band's every move, scorching sound and stunning lighting and imagery.
On 13th November 2000 Oasis will release a live album of the first Wembley Stadium show which took place on 21st July. The double album, released on the band's own label Big Brother is entitled 'Familiar To Millions' and will feature their entire set from that gig as well as an extra song recorded during the band's world tour. Available on double CD, Cassette, Minidisc and triple vinyl, the track listing for 'Familiar To Millions' is as follows:
Fuckin' In The Bushes
Go Let It Out
Who Feels Love?
Supersonic
Shakermaker
Acquiesce
Step Out
Gas Panic!
Roll With It
Stand By Me
Wonderwall
Cigarettes & Alcohol
Don't Look Back In Anger
Live Forever
Hey Hey, My My
Champagne Supernova
Rock 'n' Roll Star
...and the following extra song:
Helter Skelter (recorded in the USA)
Formats:
Double CD RKIDCD005
Double Cassette RKIDMC005
Double Minidisc RKIDMD005
Triple Vinyl RKIDLP005 (limited to 1000 copies)
The CD, cassette and minidisc will retail at the price of a single album
release.
The album was mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent who co-produced 'Standing On The
Shoulder Of Giants' with Noel Gallagher.
As previously announced, a DVD and VHS video of the same Wembley show will also
be released on November 13th. The video features an exclusive interview with
Noel and Liam Gallagher, whilst the DVD includes a documentary shot around
the show by Grant Gee (the director of Radiohead's 'Meeting People Is Easy'
film) and interactive innovations.
Oasis played to 1.2 million people in 23 countries during their year 2000
World Tour. In the UK alone they played to 450,000 fans, including 145,000 at
Wembley. The tour ended with triumphant shows headlining the Reading, Leeds
and Glasgow Green. Oasis are currently writing and recording brand new
material.
"Most strikingly, a young fan dances precariously on the roof of the mixing
desk tent, risking everything for a glimpse of immortality as the
'Live Forever' anthem is accompanied by gasps from the crowd."
