: WHO-RAY! : THE WHO were joined onstage by NOEL GALLAGHER, PAUL WELLER, EDDIE VEDDER, : KELLY JONES, BRYAN ADAMS and NIGEL KENNEDY last night (November 27), at a : mammoth three-hour charity show at the LONDON ROYAL ALBERT HALL in aid of the : TEENAGE CANCER TRUST. : The performance, which marked the final date on a comprehensive tour for The : Who, was split into two halves. The first half was a 'traditional' Who : concert, the band showcasing versions of their classic material, including 'I : Can't Explain' and 'Pinball Wizard', while the second half featured the : numerous guest slots. : Speaking at the event, guitarist Pete Townshend said: "For this tour, this is : the last show we intend to do and it's great to end it in this way." : Following the interval, Townshend played solo acoustic versions of 'Drowned' : and 'Heart To Hang Onto', before introducing "Mr Paul Weller", dressed in : bright yellow sweater and jeans for an acoustic version of 'So Sad About Us'. : In the song, Weller sang the main vocals on the verses, leaving Townshend to : provide vocal harmonies. : Weller was then replaced by Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder for a stunning : version of 'I'm One', with Vedder fronting the band, with usual vocalist : Roger Daltrey in the wings. Introducing Vedder, Townshend said: "He's come : all the way from Hawaii, come 9,000 miles to see us. He's a great friend of : mine, my family, this band. He's the lead singer of Pearl Jam - Eddie : Vedder." : Vedder then performed backing vocals on 'Getting In Tune', before reappearing : for an encore of 'Let's See Action' and 'My Generation'. : Noel Gallagher, wearing all denim, played lead guitar on 'Won't Get Fooled : Again', while Canadian starBryan Adams sang vocals on 'Behind Blue Eyes'. : For the encore, Stereophonics mainman Kelly Jones sang lead vocals on The Who : track 'Substitute'. : During the interval, the founders of the Teenage Cancer Trust were presented : with a cheque for £1 million raised as a result of the work done by The Who : in aid of the charity.
