No charges brought against Liam.
No charges will be brought against Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher,
relating to allegations he groped and made offensive remarks to a
female member of BA staff.
As previously reported on nme.com, Gallagher was accused of
confronting a female member of British Airways staff before boarding
a flight to Rio last month (January 12), as the band made their way
to perform at various South American festivals.
It was reported at the time a woman alleged Gallagher asked what kind
of men she liked and whether she liked them strong with big muscles.
He was then alleged to have squeezed her backside.
However, Gatwick Police interviewed Gallagher yesterday (February 6)
prior to his appearance at the NME Carling Awards, where it was
decided that no charges would be brought against the singer.
A statement released to NME.COM this afternoon (February 7) by
Gatwick Police reads: "As a result of an alleged incident at Gatwick
Airport on Friday 12 January 2001, a 28-year-old male was today
interviewed by Gatwick Police.
"Following consultation between the police and the Crown Prosecution
Service, no further action is to be taken against that person."
A spokesperson for Oasis said they were "delighted" at the police
decision.
